Direct Support Professional

If you are an experienced Direct Support Professional who enjoys being part of a team and is seeking an excellent career opportunity in a unique work environment, we would like to hear from you.  This is a position working in an adult day treatment program where you can gain valuable experience assisting special needs consumers.  

Principal responsibilities include:

Assist each consumer in skill development in areas such as independent living, adaptive behaviors, socialization, recreation and activities of daily living; implement all relevant support plans and, where needed, intervention; supervise consumers in the community, using various experiences to reinforce the skills being taught in group session while ensuring their health, safety, and welfare.  Maintains case records, incident reports, statistics and other related reports.  Works closely with clinicians to reinforce expectations for all consumers to ensure goal-directed and collaborative care.

Education:

Must have a High School diploma.    

Skills and/or Experience Required:

Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.  Computer skills are mandatory.  Previous experience working with adults or families is required.
