Speech-Language Pathologist (CCC or CF)

Speech Pathologist Position Overview
Seeking experienced Speech Pathologists to provide services to special needs children ages 5 to 21 at the League School. The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) will work with children presented with varied diagnoses including; ED, LD, ADD/ADHD, ASD; provide individual and group therapy sessions, keep up-to-date records, conduct assessments as needed and participate in team meetings and parent training.
Principal Qualifications
Master’s degree or equivalent in Speech Language Pathology
NYSED certification as Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped (TSHH) or Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD)
NYS SLP License and Asha certification (CCC)
CF encouraged to apply
Additional Abilities and Characteristics
Interest and willingness to work in an environment with students that exhibit a wide variety of communicative needs
Ability to work collaboratively and as part of a multi-disciplinary team required
Skills in written and verbal communications sufficient to effectively provide direction and counseling and maintain required documentation.

These positions are currently available at the League School a renowned children’s day treatment program providing skilled assistance to special needs students aged 5-21 and the Joan Fenichel Therapeutic Nursery pre-school program.
Principal responsibilities for Clinical Psychologist at the League School include
Providing individual, group and milieu therapy treatment; Meeting and working with the parents of students to back up the school’s program and provide information about parenting techniques; Supporting and implementing students’ behavior plans; Works closely with other school staff to reinforce expectations for all students to ensure goal-directed and collaborative care; Monitors overall service delivery to students to ensure coordination and continuity
Principal responsibilities for Treatment Coordinator in JFTN preschool program include
The ideal candidate will work from a trauma-informed, attachment-based lens, and may have experience with behavior modification, DIR Floortime, performing Functional Behavior Analyses and creating Behavior Intervention Plans. This position involves physical intervention such as playing, holding and lifting children. Responsibilities also comprehensive documentation including psychological and/or social history evaluations and updates. Treatment Coordinators facilitate social-emotional groups, provide consultation with classrooms, family therapy, parent training, case management, and play therapy.
Education
PhD, or a PsyD in Clinical Psychology with a limited permit would also be acceptable.
Skills and/or Experience Required
Prior experience working with psychiatrically impaired children and adolescents and their families, preferably ones from a special needs population. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills.

Responsibilities for certified Special Ed teachers include but are not limited to:
Assessing developmental functioning and learning skills of students based on IEP goals utilizing appropriate assessment tools; writing annual goals, behavioral objectives and intervention strategies corresponding with assessment in consultation with other disciplines; evaluating children’s progress on an on-going basis; preparing weekly lesson plans according to a planned sequence with IEP goals and plan/share with teacher assistants; instructing and supervising teacher assistants and substitute teacher assistants in appropriate techniques to work effectively with children.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Must have NYS Student with Disabilities teaching certification (Birth – Grade 2, Grade 1 – Grade 6)
Responsibilities for teaching assistant include but are not limited to:
Assists supervising teachers and provide special care needs to students; engage in all daily routines, e.g., busing, mealtime, toileting, floor play, outdoor activities, and program planning; adapts classroom activities, assignments and/or materials under the direction of the supervising teacher. Must have a teaching assistant certification – Level 1.
Skills and/or Experience Required:
Classroom or clinical experience (one year) with children with special needs is preferred. Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

The League School in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a LMSW/LCSW Social Worker (Bi-lingual Spanish preferred) for our renowned children’s day treatment program assisting special needs students aged 5-21 with emotional/behavioral as well as developmental disabilities. Clinicians work with a varied population of students providing individual and group therapy as well as providing social skills training, consultation with classrooms, family therapy and case management.
Responsibilities also include developing treatment plans as well as conducting psychosocial evaluations and writing updates. This position can include working with our behavior support team which performs functional analyses, develops behavior intervention plans, consults with classroom staff and assists with physical management of the children. Therefore, the ideal candidate will have experience with behavior modification and applied behavior analysis. The position provides regular opportunity for collaborating with an interdisciplinary team including psychiatrist, psychologists, social workers, creative arts therapists, speech/language pathologists, occupational/physical therapists and teachers.

Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Computer skills are mandatory. Previous experience working with adults or families is required.
